There are 11 types of resources in New Stars, that each serve different purposes.

	Resource	Type	Purpose
	Gold	Currency	Empire-wide currency.
	Energy	Basic	Power buildings, ships, and other things.
	Minerals	Basic	Colony construction materials and ships.
	Metals	Basic	Mostly used as the main component for ship building.
	Food	Basic	Upkeeps population.
	Power	Advanced	Political influence used to expand an empire.
	Science	Advanced	Increases progress towards researching technologies.
	Antimatter	Special	Used for advanced turrets.
	Pink Plasma	Special	Used for advanced turrets.
	Crimson Stardust	Special	Used for advanced turrets.
	Golden Spice	Special	Used for advanced turrets.
