This page describes events that randomly occur given enough time, but does not include pre-determined discoveries or planet events triggered by science ships, during exploration of star systems.
Colony Discoveries
Whether these events occur are determined based on whether a colonized world has a specific feature, but when they spawn is random and usually occurs within a few years after colonization. These events are not chains, and act as a single event. If a colony world has multiple features, multiple of these events should eventually occur.

Global Cooling
ID | Name | Prerequisite | Description | |
---|---|---|---|---|
1050 | Global Cooling | - | We have detected much lower temperatures than usual in all regions on {MetaRTF}, over the past few years. It has been snowing in the warmest regions of {MetaRTF}. It has also seemed to harm ecosystems and wildlife, but we are unsure whether these are temporary climate patterns, or something more alarming. | |
1052 | Global Nothing | Global Cooling | We have been monitoring an asteroid on {MetaRTF} for a while now, however things have returned to normal, and previously damaged ecosystems are flourishing once again. | |
1053 | Global Warming | Global Cooling | We have succeeded in heating {MetaRTF} back up to stop rapid climate change. However, we have been too successful. Fires are rampant, cities are melting, even more ecosystems are being destroyed. | |
1054 | Global Ice Age | Global Cooling | We believe that {MetaRTF} is experiencing a global ice age, and has now become an ice world. This will change how the {SpeciesRTF}, and how wildlife adapts to life. |
Asteroid Appears
ID | Name | Prerequisite | Description | |
---|---|---|---|---|
1100 | Asteroid Appears | - | An asteroid has been detected approaching {MetaRTF}. We have been monitoring this asteroid for some time, and consider it to be a threat. It could cause lots of damage to infrastructure if left unchecked. | |
1101 | Asteroid Disappears | Asteroid Appears | We have reports that the asteroid broke into small pieces and landed in a wild, unpopulated area of {MetaRTF}. The asteroid that collided has exotic materials that we can extract for our own use. | |
1102 | Asteroid Impact | Asteroid Appears | Alas, the asteroid has impacted on {MetaRTF}, causing population loss", $"and damage to infrastructure. | |
1103 | Asteroid Does Nothing | Asteroid Appears | The asteroid impacted on {MetaRTF}, but thankfully it hit an unpopulated location, and the damage to infrastructure is minimal. It's almost as if nothing ever happened, and there is little news coverage of the event. |
